Christmas TV ads 1989

It’s our 30th birthday this year (yes, we realise you may have heard) and we’re a tiny bit caught up in all things 1989…

In 1989 there were no ‘ad premieres’! No John Lewis vs Waitrose vs M&S event television. No shot on iPhone snowball epics. Instead we had honest-to-goodness, gentle, feel good fare featuring Norman Wisdom, Geoffrey the giraffe, the Old Spice surfer and that annoying Quality Street carol singer (that’s a good size tin of Quality Street by the way!).

In 1989 things might not have been as sophisticated, but they were effective nonetheless – just like us!
