It won’t surprise anyone that virtual events have grown since COVID-19 – but 1000%?!? That’s the growth rate that one small platform, 6Connex, has seen in the last six months – hosting an amazing 52,000 events online.

Interest from colleges, sports teams and requests from international businesses is something we didn’t anticipate growing so rapidly, but we are thrilled to assist as the event world reconvenes online.
— Ruben Castano, CEO of 6Connex

Competing platforms including The Virtual Show, Adobe Connect, Accelevents and On24 are thriving too together with new to-the-scene webinar and video calling platforms Teams, Zoom Rooms, mmhmm and many others who have added breakaway rooms, foyers, picture-in-picture, split-screen collaboration and more to the format.

But there’s an art to the virtual event. As the two high profile consumer technology keynotes below show. Apple wowed with its slick production values and passionate team members, while Samsung unleashed a cheese-ridden affair that could only be described as ‘properly wooden’. Van Moof got it just right.

WWDC 2020, Apple's first virtual event of the year set the scene for high a new high-paced infomercial-on-steroids style

Samsung got it horribly wrong with its Galaxy event, using ill-informed actors and virtual fans.

Idealogy has held and is planning numerous virtual events around the world this year. Do get in touch if you want to talk about options available.
